My experience has taught me to be patient when working with everyone. I enjoy learning from clients and the journeys they've been through. For the many years I've been doing this (30+ years), I have always put in the time and effort into every single tattoo I work on. I never rush through a tattoo and use the latest and safest tools along with all the best needles to get the job done safely and correctly. I never, ever cut corners. I still to this day get excited when I learn and grow as an artist, a business, and a human being. I regularly challenge myself by going to tattoo seminars and art workshops so my tattoos, artwork and studio can continue to improve year after year.

Being born and raised in Los Angeles, it has been an honor to work at Hollywood Stars. I grew up looking at old horror movie covers from the local video rental shop and 80s heavy metal album covers—all of which inspired my path to being the artist I am today. I went on to be an illustrator for various music artists like Teamsesh Bones, Drain, and other local heavy metal artists. As a tattoo artist, I gravitate toward and excel at black/grey, stipple, traditional and fine art tattoo styles. Bring your ideas to me and I'll work closely with you to make them a reality.

I am a tattoo apprentice at Hollywood Stars Tattoo, specializing in graphite realism and fine-line design. I have been drawing since the age of four, guided and inspired by my father Erik Gutierrez, my greatest mentor in both life and art. Having grown up with such a strong foundation in realism and passion for meaningful, detailed work thanks to my dad, I know how important it is to bring a client’s vision to life. As I continue my journey under such an experienced mentor, I am committed to continue to grow, learn and refine my skills. I am open for commission work for graphite portraits that includes framing. I can definitely see why this place has such great reviews - I had a great experience from start to finish! When I got to my appointment, one of the owners, Angel brought me in. I signed some paperwork, and then we were ready to go. We decided on placement that I liked the best and then Angel patiently explained the process. It was over in a few breaths! And pretty painless. I was so shocked because I got my ears pierced with a gun two decades ago and remember it being quite painful. But it was a small pinch and they were in! It's a great family owned, veteran run business.

Angel definitely put me at ease–I'm so glad I came to Hollywood Stars for my first piercing!
We arrived and were greeted warmly by the staff. Angel, my piercer, patiently explained the piercing process and showed me all of the equipment he would be using, all of which were individually wrapped in sterile pouches. The actual piercing process was over quickly and in a couple of breaths. I was so thankful and pleased to learn Angel had light hands. I've had nurses insert needles more painfully than him! I think the best thing though was that he gave me candy after the piercing was completed, haha. He definitely put me at ease during the entire visit, and I'm so glad I came to Hollywood Stars Tattoo for my first piercing! Clean shop and friendly staff!

Me and my partner received a very warm welcome the minute we arrived to get my anti-eyebrow piercing. Angel makes sure you'll walk out loving your piercing and is quick and efficient with what he does. TATTOO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Every tattoo is priced depending on the type of work you are getting and who would be doing the work. After we know what you're looking for in your tattoo experience, we can provide an estimate, but for a final price, we first have to agree on the design we put together, and we do that in front of you during your appointment. Our general rates start at $200 per hour.
This happens all the time! We can schedule a consultation with you and one of our artist where you can sit down and give some inspiration references or just talk to them about your ideas and we can co-create with you whatever you have envisioned.
1. **Initial Wrap (4-6 hours):** After getting your tattoo, leave the wrap on for 4-6 hours to protect it. You can leave it on longer if you prefer; it won't cause any problems.
2. **Gentle Cleaning:** Once you remove the wrap, gently wash the tattoo with warm water and soap. Avoid using harsh scrubbing or hot water.
3. **Ointment Application (First Two Days):** Pat the tattoo dry and apply a small amount of ointment. Only use the ointment for the next two days to aid healing and prevent the plasma from drying on your tattoo.
4. **Switch to Unscented Lotion:** After two days, transition to using regular white, unscented lotion. The lotion helps keep your skin moisturized and aids in the healing process.
The Role of Each Element:
**The Wrap:** The initial wrap serves to draw out the plasma your skin releases after getting a tattoo. Combined with the ointment, it prevents the plasma from drying on the tattoo's surface and below the skin. This helps reduce irritation and promote a smooth healing process.
**The Ointment:** The ointment plays a crucial role in healing your tattoo. When applied during the wrapping process, it helps protect the tattoo and fights alongside the plasma to facilitate healing. After the initial two days, apply the ointment sparingly. Using excessive amounts of ointment or using it for an extended period can break down the tattoo's pigment, potentially causing it to lighten.
**The Lotion:** Once you transition from the ointment, regular white, and unscented lotion becomes essential for maintaining proper skin hydration during the healing process. It helps prevent dryness, contributing to the overall healing of your tattoo.
By following these healing instructions and understanding the purpose of each element, you can ensure the best possible healing experience for your new tattoo. Remember to care for your tattoo diligently to achieve vibrant and long-lasting results.
