I’ve been tattooing since I was 13 years old, and after more than 37 years, I still approach every project with the same curiosity and dedication that first drew me to this art.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the most important part of creating a great tattoo isn’t just knowing how to tattoo. It’s understanding the person wearing it, what the piece means to them, and how to bring their ideas to life.
Whether we’re working on a portrait, transforming an old tattoo, or creating something entirely new, I take pride in exploring the possibilities, working through the details, and giving each project the attention it deserves.
My experience has taught me patience, but it has also taught me that there’s always more to learn. I continue studying, experimenting, and refining my craft because the work should keep evolving.

I’ve been tattooing since 2011, bringing together my experience in illustration, design, and color theory to create artwork that’s personal to each client.
Before tattooing, I spent over five years teaching perspective, design, and color theory at the Art Institute. That background allows me to approach tattooing from a different perspective, especially when an idea needs to be developed into something original.
Whether you have a clear reference or just the beginning of an idea, I can help explore the possibilities through custom drawing, freehand illustration, and thoughtful design.
For clients who want something more involved, we can also dedicate additional time to developing the artwork before the tattoo appointment.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, I grew up surrounded by artwork that pushed boundaries. From classic horror movie covers to the bold imagery of 1980s heavy-metal albums, those early influences shaped the way I see art today.
Before tattooing, I worked as an illustrator for musicians, including members of bands such as Team Sleep, Bones, and Drain. That experience taught me how to turn creative ideas into artwork with character, personality, and impact.
I bring that same creative approach to tattooing. Whether you have a specific design in mind or want to explore something original, I enjoy working with clients to develop artwork that reflects their interests and individuality.
My background in illustration gives me the freedom to explore different styles, techniques, and creative directions as I continue growing as an artist.

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began drawing at four years old, growing up surrounded by tattooing, creativity, and the artists at Hollywood Stars Tattoo.
Under the guidance of my father, Erik Gutierrez, I’ve developed a strong foundation in realism, fine detail, and the importance of creating artwork that means something to the person receiving it. I completed my first tattoo on my father at just 12 years old, an experience that deepened my interest in following this artistic path.
Today, I’m continuing my tattoo apprenticeship while developing my own artistic identity through graphite realism, portraiture, and illustration.
For those looking for something personal beyond a tattoo, I also create commissioned graphite portraits. Whether it’s a loved one, a meaningful memory, or a special gift, my goal is to create artwork worth keeping for years to come.
I’m not currently accepting tattoo appointments, but I welcome inquiries about original artwork and portrait commissions.

I signed some paperwork, and then we were ready to go. We decided on placement that I liked the best and then Angel patiently explained the process. It was over in a few breaths! And pretty painless. I was so shocked because I got my ears pierced with a gun two decades ago and remember it being quite painful. But it was a small pinch and they were in! It's a great family owned, veteran run business.

Angel definitely put me at ease–I'm so glad I came to Hollywood Stars for my first piercing!
We arrived and were greeted warmly by the staff. Angel, my piercer, patiently explained the piercing process and showed me all of the equipment he would be using, all of which were individually wrapped in sterile pouches. The actual piercing process was over quickly and in a couple of breaths. I was so thankful and pleased to learn Angel had light hands. I've had nurses insert needles more painfully than him! I think the best thing though was that he gave me candy after the piercing was completed, haha. He definitely put me at ease during the entire visit, and I'm so glad I came to Hollywood Stars Tattoo for my first piercing! Clean shop and friendly staff!

TATTOO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Every tattoo is priced depending on the type of work you are getting and who would be doing the work. After we know what you're looking for in your tattoo experience, we can provide an estimate, but for a final price, we first have to agree on the design we put together, and we do that in front of you during your appointment. Our general rates start at $200 per hour.
This happens all the time! We can schedule a consultation with you and one of our artist where you can sit down and give some inspiration references or just talk to them about your ideas and we can co-create with you whatever you have envisioned.
1. **Initial Wrap (4-6 hours):** After getting your tattoo, leave the wrap on for 4-6 hours to protect it. You can leave it on longer if you prefer; it won't cause any problems.
2. **Gentle Cleaning:** Once you remove the wrap, gently wash the tattoo with warm water and soap. Avoid using harsh scrubbing or hot water.
3. **Ointment Application (First Two Days):** Pat the tattoo dry and apply a small amount of ointment. Only use the ointment for the next two days to aid healing and prevent the plasma from drying on your tattoo.
4. **Switch to Unscented Lotion:** After two days, transition to using regular white, unscented lotion. The lotion helps keep your skin moisturized and aids in the healing process.
The Role of Each Element:
**The Wrap:** The initial wrap serves to draw out the plasma your skin releases after getting a tattoo. Combined with the ointment, it prevents the plasma from drying on the tattoo's surface and below the skin. This helps reduce irritation and promote a smooth healing process.
**The Ointment:** The ointment plays a crucial role in healing your tattoo. When applied during the wrapping process, it helps protect the tattoo and fights alongside the plasma to facilitate healing. After the initial two days, apply the ointment sparingly. Using excessive amounts of ointment or using it for an extended period can break down the tattoo's pigment, potentially causing it to lighten.
**The Lotion:** Once you transition from the ointment, regular white, and unscented lotion becomes essential for maintaining proper skin hydration during the healing process. It helps prevent dryness, contributing to the overall healing of your tattoo.
By following these healing instructions and understanding the purpose of each element, you can ensure the best possible healing experience for your new tattoo. Remember to care for your tattoo diligently to achieve vibrant and long-lasting results. If you have any concerns during the healing process, don't hesitate to reach out to your tattoo artist for guidance and support.
